Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
"Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost
Nettle has always fascinated me. It's nature's textural gem. It's not a nice plant to touch or fall into but it's smooth, spikey, soft, hard, wispy & thorny surfaces make for some interesting images.
Good photo of a common plant and a wonderful poem.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo and thoughtful comments about how even the NOT so nice, the hard, the spikey, and the painful carry BEauty and wonder.
ReplyDeleteLovely!! :)
ReplyDeleteWow you've transformed what is normally considered an ugly weed into something quite beautiful. I agree they can be very fascinating.
ReplyDeleteWhat an exquisite marriage of image and poem! Thank you for sharing with Photo Art Friday.
ReplyDeleteLovely - once again!
